marems
I'm looking to purchase either the MC150 or MC202. I was curious if anyone has compared the two? Thanks much,

Q-Man
I use MC 202 power amps in my home theater. It's a great amp. I can compare it with the MC 206 and the MC 126, but I never had the MC 150. I would think that the 150 wouldn't have enought power, but that depends on a lot of other things. I think the 202 is as good a sounding amp as it's bigger brothers the MC 252, MC 352. I'm sold on McIntosh. I don't think that I will ever own any other amps. Mighty Favog
If I could afford a MC202 I'd have one. The last one on eBay went for a little over $1,700.
steelie
I'd love to have an mc202 myself and have been looking for quite a while. Seems like everytime I find one it's too late, so I'm not too sure how many people are parting with theirs. McIntoshaudio.com has an mc150 for $2,600, though that's way out of my budget. I run a combination of mono MC250's and MC2105 in my HT which puts me at 100 WPC. Thats 100 clean unclipped Mcintosh WPC. With my 2105's I barely ever hit 50 WPC in my Heritage HT. The older MC's sound great on Heritage and are a good value. If you want a real value, buy a broken MC off Ebay. I bought my 2105 for $360, and spent another $125 getting it up to par. Thats a 2105 for under $500. Now thats a bargain. JM
marems
Thanks for the input everyone. I found a great deal on the MC150 so I,m going to go with that one, its rated at 150 watts per ch. so with only 50 watts difference I can't see going wrong.
