havicwind
I was looking through the gallary and came across this: Anyone know what these are? They are pretty but I can't seem to find them anywhre else on the site. I can see it's just a concept 3d render. Are these yet to be released? damonrpayne
This is the Reference Premier system, which should be available March-May of 2005.

IndyKlipschFan
I saw these at CEDIA this last year. Not hooked up. And the sub has a 18" passive woofer in front, with a 15 " rear woofer too. Looks huge. I have more of a concerned feeling with the newer Tweeter (opening seems small with an even more so skinny horn? The tweeter in the middle? Just how it all sounds? Maybe it is just me? damonrpayne
I thought about these, but I don't like the Thx style surrounds, and one could easily put together an all heritage system for what this will cost.

Since much of the localization of sounds is in the HF range the artists won't be overhead. The size of the horn is dependent on the frequencies it is designed to emit. A larger horn can get "beamy" at higher frequencies limiting the soundstage perception. Damon, True but not everyones wife's are as understanding as mine and allow Khorns, Heresys, a Lascala etc. Some people have to be content with "mere" Reference systems. I think that the Premiere will be giant killers in their price range. Going after speakers two to four times their price. If Klipsch can find more high end retailers for their products, they will do well with the Premieres IMHO. It gives someone with a Reference "7" system upward mobility. DrWho
Will they come in other finishes? I find the one they're advertising to be extremely butt ugly. Are they rear ported too? I thought Klipsch was getting away from that so as to allow better flexibility in placement...
Bruinsrme
When the Reference Premiere Series launches in 2005, the recommended 5.1 system, consisting of two floorstanders, a center channel, two surround speakers and a subwoofer, will have a target U.S. MSRP of $14,500. IndyKlipschFan
Dr Who.. The ones I saw were in fact rear ported. Thats why the THX Ultra system is not. Even the subs are front firing and you hear NOTHING from tje sides or rears. People can then "hide it" if they feel like it too.
