Watchengineer
Hi, I have a RC-3II that I use as a rear center and one of the woofers has been damaged (cat infestation!). Can anyone tell me how or where I can get it repaired? Can a speaker be purchased seperately and is it easy to install? I live in Rhode Island. If there is someone in the area that could give me some advice, I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks for any help.
3dzapper
From a fellow Rhode Islander: Just call or email Klipsch Parts Dept. they have replacements. You will have no trouble replacing the driver yourself. Where are you in RI? I'm in North Kingstown. Rick
Watchengineer
Hey Rick, Thanks for the advice. I'm going to start taking the driver out now. I live in Warwick. Bought almost all of my Klipsch speakers at Tweeters. Then they dropped the brand and I had to go up to Worchester to get my RB-15's. I'd like to see more dealers in the area. Just in case I want to upgrade to floor standing speakers. Well, thanks again. Mike
gcoker
Yes you should be able to order one driver and easily remove the damaged one slip the new one in. Was that the only damage?
3dzapper
Back when I bought my Klipschorns the only Klipsch dealer in the area was in Wellesly, Mass between Boston and Worchester. It was worth the drive! I went into the new Tweeter store once just to see it. They really have nothing nowadays that interests me. No tube equipment, no vinyl or turntables. I guess Polk is their brand now. When Tweeter first started, we used to drive up to the (only) store up in Norwood. They had some of the best prices in the country on things like headphones and cartridges back then. Rick
Watchengineer
Hey Rick, I haven't been to the new Tweeter store yet. I bought my reference speakers when they were trying to get rid of their stock. I got them at a good price and I'm realy happy with my Klipsch speakers. Klipsch Support, e-mailed back to me and gave me a 1-800 number to call for price and availability. Thanks for the input. Mike
Watchengineer
Hey gcoker, The speaker is ripped. The other one looks fine. The speaker is up high and the stinking cat likes it up there. It only goes up there when I'm not around. I've got to find some way of keeping it off. Thanks for responding. Mike
