ronk11
I'm trying to find a center channel match for my Klipsch floor speakers. I cannot at all find the model type of these older speakers? Bought them about 10 yrs ago from Audio King (now Ultimate). They stand about 3 ft high, 1 ft wide. It has a wood frame with snap on front grills. Appreciate if anyone can suggest how to obtain the model type? Looked high & low for receipt. I have a 51" Rear Proj Hitachi and the only place for my center channel is on top of the TV, so I would guess shielding is of issue? Not wanting to spend more than $300.00 Thanks, Ron
lipinski
Probably there is a model number on the back of the speaker.

Olorin
There is generally a sticker on the upper right corner of the back panel, and there is usually a model name in the terminal cup.

gcoker
---------------- I would've thought so! I searched high & low and couldn't find it. Could it possibly be behind the grill? ---------------- It could be but very doubtful. As stated previously all Klipsch speakers I have seen are on the back in the top right. There should be one on each speaker. There it will be signed, model number, serial number and the such. If your speakers don't have one I would be very suspect on the speakers. ronk11
I think I finally found it. Looks like they're "KG 5.2". Again, looking for a good center channel to match. THanks! -Ron
fletcherkane
Klipsch Made a series of center channel speakers for the KG series. The KG2.2v or the 2.5v would match pretty nicely. You can find them on ebay if you are patient. 100-150 for the center channel. If you don't need the video sheilded variety, the 2.2 and the 2.5 show up pretty regularly, and a pair of those would make for a good front and rear center. Good luck. ronk11
Thanks, as I understand it the 2.2 & 2.5 are not shielded? Is shielding important? Only place for it is on top of my TV - 51' Rear Proj Hitachi. Are their comparable newer models? Thanks, Ron
lipinski
The KG 2.2V and KG 2.5V are sheilded.
lipinski
sorry, guess I should have kept going. They are sheilded and will be an appropriate sonic match. There is not really another good sonic match to the KG line of speakers, either discontinued or current.
