Clipped and Shorn
Turns out not to be the amp or anything else. Glenn Gould hums while he plays ! The Well Tempered Clavier (among other things). First I thought it was my system, then I went outside to see if anyone was out there singing along. It had me going for awhile. Hum Job Don't forget to click on the "MP3 80kps Mono-117kb" and you will see what I was up against. The best $4999.95 I ever spent. It really works! C&S (hmmm....why do I suspect this thread will divert......hummmmm)

Woodog
When I got my first pair of Cornwalls, I was listening to Grisman and Rice "Tone Poems" and thought I was hearing bad noise from the speakers.. turns out I was hearing them breath. I hadn't heard that before on my previous system. Keith Jarrett also hums.

BillH2121
If you think Gould sounds weird when he plays the beloved Bach (humming and vocalizing), you ought to see him play. At times, he's hunkered down so far he's practically under the piano. Quite a departure from your standard Baroque performance.
