tommyboy
I realized to day that my center (C2) makes the slightest noise when the t.v. is on. It's nothing that you would notice, I just happened to put my ear up to it while watching t.v. Even with the receiver off, it makes a hissing noise, only in the tweeter though. I've never heard of this, so I turn to you for help. thanks again.

tommyboy
Like I said before, it's totally un-noticable unless you put your ear up to the tweeter, I'm just worried that in the long run it will cause damage or something like that to the speaker. jzoz01
I have the same issue with my RC3-II. I narrowed it down to the tv because even if i disconnect the speaker wire going to the center, it still makes the hiss.
WMcD
I'm quite sure this will not hurt anything. We did have a report of something similar about three years ago. A slight noise even with the amp turned off. I was convinced an inductor in the crossover circuit was picking up the raster from the CRT. I tried to re create it with a T-35 attached to a coil and moving it around a computer monitor at the office. Nothing. But I believe this is the sort of thing going on. tkot
could it just be a reflection of ambient noise in the room?? kinda like putting you ear up to a sea shell?? jay
