We had a 664 in the closet at the studio in Fredonia. Although most students tended to use it as a hammer, it really doesn't sound dated. I found it to be a relatively neutral and versatile dynamic mic. Somewhat wooly low-mids. I mainly used it as an alternative to the ubiquitous Shures on instrument amps and other high level sources. Greg's is about as nice cosmetically as I can imagine.

I've got a gold-finish Calrad that, while modelled after the EV/Shure hinged mics of the period, is actually a ribbon mic. No idea if it works; a bit of connector attention is due. Looks veddy cool, though...
