Kain
Will it be okay to place the surround speakers (RS-3s) parallel to the two SIDE walls so that they will be facing each other? I am asking this because I do not exactly have a rear wall available in my Home Theater room.
red_eye
See my response in the "KSP-S6 please help!" thread, same forum. Just my thots on side surrounds. red_eye
Kain
Thanks man. I read your response and I have one more question: I can place the surround speakers behind me, but the both will not be in one line. Instead one speaker will be slightly behind the other. Will this be okay?
red_eye
I'm sure no expert on this (just rely on my own experiences). Your receiver should allow you to compensate for the distance difference by adjusting the speaker levels and delays. Best to get more opinions if possible. ColaBear
I am surprised that so many people place the side surrounds BEHIND their seating area. Both at the dolby site and any Dolby theatre you go to, they have the side surrounds on the sides of the theatre. I am a huge supporter/fan of direct radiating speakers over WDST or dipole. The sound engineers have the sound coming directly at you from the sides. They don't bounce it around. But that is just my humble opinion and two cents worth. Experimentation and your ears should be the ultimate judge. cbr600
I just moved my RS-3 from back wall to side walls. To my ears, it sounds much better. According to Klipsch manual, magazines and even my Denon receiver manual. I am under the impression that main surround speakers should be on the side. Kain
Kick ***! That means that it will be much easier for me to setup the surround speakers if they actually sound better on the sides.
