Dale A B
The Marantz 2245 built 1971-1976, list price $450.00. See this and other MARANTZ/PIONEER/TECHNICS equipment at www.classic-audio.com. My Dual TT, JBL speakers, and Pioneer receiver cost me less than 10% of that price you're lookin' at, so I can't recommend it. I'd do some internet searches before I'd fork out that kind of cash. I paid $280 for my 2385 (185wpc)! A good place to get price sanity checks on audio equipment is Ebay. I doubt that a week goes by that there isn't a 2245 on the block with the market determining its REAL value.

CaptnBob
L-100s could have issues. Make sure all drivers work. Will almost certainly have replacement grills. 2245 is an ok receiver. Check all the switches - they have a high failure rate. Does it have the walnut cabinet? Dual is probably a 1219 or 1229. Not a bad table for its day. A little rumbly by today's standards. Use as a manual. Almost any JBL has a following, so the price for the whole system is not too out of line. See if he'll come down to $425 or so.
