colterphoto1
Amy, didn't really mean it like that, just having a little fun. Don't take me so seriously. I loved your movie list- your bring another dimension to our otherwise drab, dull existence. Michael

colterphoto1
NDI, technically we were trying to keep it movies about music, specifically excluding concert vids (that's too easy and too broad a topic). M
Moderators dtel Posted March 17, 2005 Moderators Share Posted March 17, 2005 I was in the video store and seen this dvd and remembered reading a review on this forum so i gave it a try. DKP gave the review on 11 23 04 ,the dvd is Standing in shadows of motown. There is so much most people don't know about motown and the FUNK BROTHERS . Very good story and music and lot's of extras. Everyone should see this, give it a try you won't be sorry.
rplace
Thank you RickB! Another "Hight Fidelity" fan. Was starting to think I was the only person in the forum that has seen it. I can't imagine anyone seeing it and not liking it. Have you seen the directors cut version or watched the deleted scenes on the standard version? I love the part where John C takes the trip to the burbs to buy the killer vinyl collecting. I bet that scene would make GaryMD sick to his stomach. rplace
Colin, nice job putting the list together. I will have to give your questions some thought and get back to you. Not to nit pick but I was thinking of Mark Wahlberg's Rock Star from 2001 in your #27 spot. Hardly holds a candle to the likes of Mr. H's O but it did amuse me. RickB
I believe it was A Star Is Born, not Rock Star. Jennifer Aniston looked hot in Rock Star.

colterphoto1
Dern impressive there Young Lady! So the question begs to be asked- what type of system does our lady moderator watch/listen when she curls up for a good movie? Doesn't have to be real technical, just how big screen and which speakers. We could really care about watts/channel. We just talk about that stuff to make up for how we're lacking in other areas. Moderators Amy Posted March 18, 2005 Moderators Share Posted March 18, 2005 I have a 42" Plasma TV mounted above the fireplace, with 2 mid-size "home-made" front speakers from an engineer friend of mine here, along with 4 RSX speakers (a center on fireplace mantel, a rear center and 2 surrounds mounted upside down from ceiling) and an RSW 12 (plus a new Synergy Sub 12 beta unit for testing--temporary...) colterphoto1
I wonder what Amy's definition of 'home-made' speakers is? Probably custom KHorns! Michael- guess I'm blowing my chance of an invite, huh Amy?
