capta
I just got a pair of KG3.5s new from ubid. From the Klipsch site I see they are rated at 65 watts continuous. My receiver, a Denon 2801, is rated at 90 WPC. How concerned should I be about blowing the 3.5s? Do I need to be extremely careful with the volume, or is the 2801 rated a little high, as I have heard this elsewhere? Advice appreciated. t-man
Bottom line, don't worry. I ran a 130 watt/chan sony with my KG 3.2s rated at the same power. No problem. Just don't push it to distortion levels. You shouldn't unless you like your ears to bleed. DLUngurait
T-man is exactly right. I run a pair of KG 3.5's w/ a receiver rated @ 110 watts per channel. 65 watts into a high efficency (94 db @ 1 watt)speaker would be more that you could stand in an average room. Lower powered receivers, at least cheaper ones, are actually more dangerous since since they will start to clip sooner or at lower wattage levels. Clipping be berry berry bad for speakers.
