mtbiker731
I recently went to the woodshop on base and got the wonderful idea of resurfacing my speakers. I figured I could take measurements, dimension and finish panels for all the sides, then stick them on. I'd pretty much be able to pick what type of wood, color, finishes, ect. The ones I have now have the black finish. Has anyone ever tried this process? Klipsch Reference makeover!
joessportster
there have been several threads about this in the past one word of advice, when you cut your veneer make it at least 1/8 inch larger than the actual measurement, get a small rabbit joint planer and trim off the excess to flush, never seems to fail if you cut to exact sizes something ends up off, either due to squareness of the speaker or the material it is not a terriably hard process though and the end results are usually worth while good luck Joe
klipschaholik
Oh boy, you've opened up another can of worms. There are many threads on veneering old cabinets. "heresy veneering project" has some examples of how to go about refinishing cabinets. There are many others. Just type in veneer in the search engine. Go for it!
