Home build center channel

Ok, Maybe I would be taking on more than I could chew, but would it be possible to build myself a center channel, maybe with Heresy parts? My father is a finish carpenter, so I can get him to build a cabinent, but I'm unsure of how to go about the internal organs. Could I run a pair of 12" woofers, the standard horns in a horizontal position and use the crossovers from a Heresy? I'm running LaScala mains and an RC-7 center, and of course it's just not seamless. Would appreciate any help or plans. Also, how would I shield it as I have to put it on top of my Mitsubishi big screen? Any input would really be nice. I am a complete novice at this, but like I said, have someone to do the cabinent.
