psg
Hi all, Today I heard my beloved La Scala's screech on one channel after 25 years without problems. I had never heard that before! It turns out that one of the knob-like connectors on the mid-horn driver is a little loose, making the connection intermittent. I rotated a bit to get a better connection and then it plays fine. How do I permanently fix this? I would have posted a picture but my digital camera is busted. Thanks!
3dzapper
Peter, The push pins on K-55s just screw on. Give the base not the sprung part a little twist with a pair of needle nosed pliers. Good and snug but not overtight. Rick

BEC
Peter, This is what it looks like on the inside. There is a screw that holds the terminal on. The diaphragm is soldered to the screw. In this picture the diaphragm is removed and the screw has been cleaned of solder so it can be tightened. Here the terminal and screw have been removed. You got lucky if you managed to tighen the screw without breaking the lead loose from the diaphragm. Bob
