3dzapper
I have a Benz Micro-Gold Low Output MC cartridge and a step-up transformer with three settings: 3.9; 39; and 110 Ohms. The Benz spec sheet says >200 Ohms for the Micro Gold. Which is the best loading for this cart? Rick
Guy Landau
The Benz state a recommended loading of >200 ohm instead of the standard 47K. Do you know what is the impedance of the coil?
Guy Landau
I found it here http://www.musicalsurroundings.com/cartr.html and it's 20 ohm. Just use the closest one (39 ohm).

Guy Landau
You're welcome. When using a step-up transformer (passive device), choose according to the coil impedance. When using an active head amp,go with the recommended load.
