Weekly reading: Sound Reenforcement

Recommended Posts

The page 2, reprinted from the Sound and Vibration magazine rings absolutely true, that most often than not, public address systems range from mediocre to absolutely horrid.

Case in point, the local arena in my home town installed a sound system featuring brand "B" speakers from some contractor located in the city here, after blowing up several replacement speakers trying to obtain any intelligble sound, they replaced the system with another featuring horn loaded sound reinforcement speakers.

They still did not address the underlying problem, the acoustics of the building! It is marginally better, but still sucks. Not to mention the continued expense to the taxpayers, trying to band-aid the problem.
