Clipped and Shorn
My Radio Shack Duofone phone answering maching seems to be malfunctioning, the cool musical message I recorded in there about 20 years ago keeps repeating over and over again, the tape player in that section doesn't want to stop. I need to get the schematic so I can fix this unit, also, I may want to upgrade with higher quality caps or whatever is in there. If this is over my head, is there a high end shop where I can send it and do they have loaner units while they are working on it since I hear it can take as much as a 6 month turn around time because of heavy demand. Is there like a course you can take to learn how to overhaul these things. Also I am thinking of putting that cool 2 min. message with the original music onto vinyl, it should sound great at 78 rpm. Is there a speed faster than 78 rpm, because the message is short enough, it would probably fit on a 12" disc at say 300 rpm. That would really be high fidelity, man! C&S (anyone know where I put the medication and the car keys, I am going craxzy here..... who are those people in the white suits in the driveway....?) Clipped and Shorn
OK.... Hi friends.... I have calmed down now. Let's just pretend that was my parody of life in geezerville... where rip Van W. wakes up to find he still has old vintage gear and the trees he planted are now overgrown towers....etc. where is everyone? Turns out they don't even make answering machines with tapes anymore. Will you still respect me if I go digitize myself? Do they make vinyl anwering machines with tube amplification? Guess that would have to be about the size of a small jukebox, huh? C&S
