Amp

I am currently running a 5.1 set-up with a Yamaha receiver that lacks power. Instead of ditching the whole receiver can I get an amp to push out some extra power into all my speakers? If this is correct, will my DSP modes in my receiver be effected or will the amp just push out more power?

Finally, could anyone recommend an amp that goes great with my reference series?

what is your price range?

how many channels are you looking to power?

- in many cases a two channel amplifier added to power your mains will give you a tremendous improvement in sound and it allows your receiver to power the rest of the channels with more ease....

using my Yamaha receiver (RXV-2095) now as a pre/pro

it works great

bought an Anthem MCA50 5-ch amp

really made a difference in sound

was not looking for a lot of more power but got more now too

remmeber, do not buy cheap audio interconnects

this is the main link between your receiver and the external amp and should be quality

my Yamaha RXV-2095 is no slouch when it comes to A/V receivers and still the amp made a difference in the sound

so what are you waiting for

go get that amp
