mcp
I recently posted about wanting to raise my Fortes about 3". I ran across these. These stands are about half the width and depth of the Fortes. Do you think this will be too unstable (no kids to worry about)? BTW, I would be removing the risers to do this. Also, will I lose much bass doing this? Any thoughts? aviserated
The forte's are awsome sounding speakers aren't they. I would build some risers if it were me. I do not like those in picture. You will not loose bass if you keep them close to the wall.
Dflip
A base made out of solid pine or mdf with a veneer finish on top would make an excellent stand and a lot cheaper. Mind you, you will need someone to rip the boards to length for you. Home Depot up here will crosscut them, but not rip them. The wood, veneer and finish would all come in under $40. A lot cheaper than the solution you are looking at and you can probably come pretty close to matching the colour at well.
