TEXASRONANDTRISH
Okay, I'm stealing this topic from Nightrider, same question only with the Heresys. What do you think the best position would be? Right now I have them in the corners, about 12 feet apart, toed in to my position. Don't get me wrong, they sound AMAZING but something seems to be missing, could be my crummy amp Any ideas, suggestions? Thanks, GOD BLESS Ron
travisc
man I just got a new amp from FrzninVT. I was dealing with amp woes for the last three months. Tried the Teacs felt it was better. Then Charles came over and brought me a audio dynamics b-200 4 channel amp. Huge difference in bass, not small, HUGE. Goes to show that there are some very nice older SS amps out there very low money. I use two Heresy as centers. 7 channel stereo hits hard. fini
When I saw the topic title, I thought this would be about non-missionary sex. I was going to have to redirect you to the "Technical Questions" section...
smuttynose
Could be the recording, some present better sound stage and separation and such things better than others. Anyway, with light weight and easy to place Hereseys, move them around, have a few beverages and see what you like best.
johnyholiday
travisc can you elborate on "I use two Heresy as centers" ie ,wiring an ,sound .... back to the question ,are the tweeters aimed at your knees, or ears
travisc
sure, I just set it up that way last week so well see, its probly overkill but I got two Heresy, I wasnt gonna stick one in the closet! I split the signal from my preamp and each speakers got 90 watts available. a picture is worth a thousand words. damn I thought i resized that sorry to anyone with dialup Wayne tweeters more like my chest. woofers at knees camera slight downward angle
intotubes
---------------- could be my crummy amp ---------------- ---------------- Denon PMA 777 ---------------- Denon makes crappy amps? Is that the prevailing opinion here? I thought otherwise. Only heard one though. I'm open to enlightenment. *please forgive the mild hijack* Mark
travisc
no I just didnt know what amp he was using. I have always heard wonderful things about Denon amps just never heard one of their amps, except in the store and I dont believe anything while in store. They try to trick you with fancy lights, crowd you with fancy crap, christ Im dizzy by the time I leave audio shops
TEXASRONANDTRISH
I think Denon makes great amps, I'm having problems with mine. My tweeters are aimed at my knees, I'm aftraid if I angle them too much I'll lose some bass, no? And you're right, some recordings are remarkable. It just seems to be a tad off, I really can't explain it. Maybe openess(is that a word) Ron
travisc
can you put them on some end tables or bedside tables or whatever they call those things. you probly want the tweeter about 3' off the floor. still corner loaded of course
TEXASRONANDTRISH
I'll try getting them off the floor, I have them in the corners now so I'll keep them there. Thanks travisc, I'll let you know how they sound. Need to get a pre-amp so I can try this NAD Amp out. Ron
travisc
no preouts on the Denon? only a sub out? You could hook that puppy right up if ya had preamp outs
TEXASRONANDTRISH
No preouts, Almost bought a cheap Pyle pre amp ($50) I'm wanting to hear this amp so bad. I've got the speakers up on tables. So far my feeling is I lost too much bass, but I'll leave it for a while and see. They opened up for sure, Queensryche sounds pretty good on em
