TEXASRONANDTRISH
I'd like to start collecting picture disc LP's, I'm questioning the sound quality of these. I have 4 or 5 and none of them seem to be very good. Is this true of all? or are picture LP's like other vinyl LP's, some good, some bad, some suck? Thanks Ron
Schurkey
My understanding is that they were not intended to "sound" good, they were intended to "look" good. I have a Sgt. Pepper picture disc, never out of the wrapper until it went under water in the flood of '97. Still have it...somewhere. Haven't seen it for years. sunburnwilly
The No Wave , punk compilation , from the early 80's , is a great picture disc . It's a pizza , an old friend of mine has it hanging on the wall of his music room . I couldn't detect a differance in sound over the stock disc ; when he played it . garymd
I have a few but have never played them. Always thought they were for show. Some of the Sinatra discs look great. The best IMO was High Society which I gave to Boomac since he claims to be related to Grace Kelly.[] I have about 4 others, one 45 is actually shaped like an apple. I'd keep em for show and buy the regular LPs for play.

TEXASRONANDTRISH
I've got a Sgt. Peppers picture disc. Is it worth anything? Mr Colter, They go from $45-$75 everyday on Ebay. "Usually" its the 45's that are worth something. Ron

whell
I remember dropping a picture disk or two on my turntable, back in the '70's when they first came out. I remember one in particular - Heart's "Magazine" LP - sounded like #@$&!
