Al Klappenberger Posted September 30, 2005 Share Posted September 30, 2005 Guys, Here's a computer simulation looking through the squawker section of an AA netwrok with the tweeter actually shorted out. The lowest impedance seen by the amp is 3.6 Ohms. This was a surprise to mee too when I first did it a while ago! The zeners operating do no damage to the amp. Al K. I thought that might happen and that is why I'm all but retracting what I descibed about Zeners. I owe Bob a bit of an apology. There is a dip down to zero if you leave the tweeter out! So its is a bit counter intuitive. I still have to model what goes on when the Zeners clamp with a high signal. I was wrong about other things.
