Frzninvt
Tom Adams reported high noise levels with the Sherbourn 7/2100A that he had, so I was wondering if anyone else that is using this amp has had a similar experience. I am looking to purchase one, hence my question.

Frzninvt
Well I got it, and it has "NO" noise, and the muting in it is superb! It sounds killer and has lots of balls! Anyone on the fence about purchasing one of these, just do it! You will not be disappointed. I thought my BX1's were heavy at 85lbs! Hah! The Sherbourn is one hefty mother at 115lbs, effortless power. This amp is replacing my two DBX BX1 Reference Amplifier's and that is a statement in itself. I am running this amp with all 104db efficient speakers and that is a challenge for any amplifier and the Sherbourn shines! To coin McDonald's phrase "I'm Loving It"
Coytee
Ignorance alert (mine)... "I am running this amp with all 104db efficient speakers and that is a challenge for any amplifier" Why is this so?
Frzninvt
When running speakers this efficient it is a challenge for any amplifier to run quiet since there are so many other variables. Your home's electrical system, interaction with other gear, speaker wire, interconnects etc. can all lead to interference and the Sherbourn performs well with all the aforementioned things considered. Coytee
Ok, gotcha... I didn't reallize you were speaking of it being quiet... I was thinking of the interaction of the speaker & amp. Like with ohms, impedence and all that spooky stuff that is over my head. []
