malechi
I just left Best Buy. They have the igroove next to the im7. I was able to compare side by side. As much as I hate to admit it, I felt the im7 sounded better than the igroove. Wider, clearer, of course deeper, cheaper, more functions. As much as I like Klipsch, Altec Lansing is right on with their im7. I cant find a logical reason not to buy the im7 over the igroove. OoTLink
I think this time klipsch might gotten so caught up with the idea of making a better sound dock than bose did that they forgot to make it ... really good It does look really cool with an ipod in it, though. thxsubwoofers
To bad the apple store in Hawaii has not gotten the iGroove yet. I went to the apple store today, just to try the new iGroove. It was not even on display or in stock....
007
we (compusa) dont have it in stock yet, but I am very disappointed with the only dual drivers setup. I expect quad drivers like the 2.0's or tow bigger drivers like 4ers. I think that would have at least given the iM7 some competition. Larry1
Saw it at Best Buy, my take is that the iGroove is another me too product with average sound with a remote, although it does look nice. Perhaps the MSP needs to be lowered.

Perhaps the MSP needs to be lowered. Cost is about 180 dollars, next to the 2.0's whic are only 80. You cant tell me subtracting two speakers, then putting everything in only 1 enclousure with a smaller amp is going to cost over 100% more because of a freaking iPod DOCK! Klipsch, what the hell are you thinking? This is BOSE-like indeed.
Larry1
Currently Best Buy sells the iGroove to consumers for $279.99. For that much money a consumer starts becoming picky for a miniature iPod speaker system.
malechi
I'm in no way bashing Klipsch nor do I want to turn this into that kind of session. I think their speakers are awesome. I just think that Altec Lansing beat them on this one with a better, cheaper solution. Actually, I don't think I'll buy either at this time. My Promedia Ultras fill my office with sound nicely. Hopefully, Klipsch's upcoming portable system can regain the title from Altec Lansing. Klipsch did beat the Bose SoundDock though.
skonopa
Klipsch did beat the Bose SoundDock though. Just barely, though. Still, given the choice, I'd rather buy the iGroove over the SoundDock anyway, for the simple fact that I rather support an outfit like Klipsch, instead of Bose. In reality, it is most likely that I'll buy neither. Part of the reason is that I don't even have an iPod, plus my trusty ol' Tivoli Audio radio does me good in my office. At home, of course, between the ProMedia's and my big RF-7 setup, I am set for audio. Now, the upcoming iJam has me intriqued. If that thing actually sounds good, being a truly portable solution, it may be worth getting to take camping, to the beach, etc.
dopiipod
Spent some time at the Apple store listening to the Bose sounddock, the Klipsch iGroove and the Altec Lansing iM7. Although I wanted to like the Klipsch the best, I thought the Altec Lansing was by far the best of the three. Klipsch was better than the Bose. Much brighter, Bose sounded mumbly, muddy and dark. Bose wasn't terrible, Klipsch a little better than the Bose, but Altec Lansing was the best of the three by a noticeable margin.

And to make things worse for Klipsch, I've seen the iM7 heavily discounted. Quite common to see them in stores for $179!
