I have my original "Heresey" speakers when I was all of 16- 17 yrs old... unstained to this day... I Love That Look.. And yes even with my own version of house of Klipsch would look for a pair too.. Caring for raw birch. I'm sure it's been discussed here many times. I'll take a look in the arcives. Must be in there somewhere. So a fine sandpaper is good? What else? Your story reminded me of the time back in the mid 70s when my neighbor was selling his very good condition, first year, first in town mustang. He had it listed for $150 in the local paper. Nothing wrong with it really, just about 80,000 well cared for miles. He never even got a nibble, he raised the price to $1500 and it was sold to the first guy on the first day of the listing!
