Colin Posted February 27, 2006 Share Posted February 27, 2006 The DJIA is not much more than a psychological indicator of what people (including Dow Jones editors) think the stock market should be. The DJIA tested the magical 11K mark several times before finally getting up enough steam to stay across the line. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Looking at a daily chart of the last 5 years is virtually useless, but a monthly one shows that the major indices are in a steady bull market (with rising on-balance volume) ever since the spring 04 bottom. A couple of weak down days are certainly in order here for the DJIA, more I think for the SPX, but I dont think these will be real tests (expect to see volume fall off as market weakens temporarily) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
