HOV-Lane
Hey i could use some advice. I am planning on building a HT for about 2k. I would like to use SF-1's as mains, SC-1 center, and SB-2's for surround. Should i use the KSW 10, or 12. It is a bedroom, 11x14, one covered window and two doors. I am torn between recievers. Onkyo 5.1 (looks nice on paper) or a Pioneer 6.1 (looks ok on paper and i can upgrade to 6 channel latter). I am using my comp as the dvd player because i can copy (rip) dvd's. Please give me some advice on my setup. Thanks for your time. Ryan
dougdrake2
Ryan - Go for the 12" sub. You'll be glad you did, now and in the future. It just has that extra whump you'll want for HT. DD2
myram
Yes.....go for the 12" woofer. The system sounds like it will rock. I would look at a Denon receiver if you haven't already. They are very nice pieces that are very high quality and very good to work with. Good Luck BTW - I am selling a KSW-12 if you are looking to save a few $$$ ------------------ Klipsch Quartets - fronts Klipsch Academy - center Klipsch KG 1.5's - rear surrounds Klipsch KG .5's - rear side surrounds Klipsch KSW12 subwoofer Denon AVR-4800 Denon POA-5200 THX Amp (fronts) Sony C-67ES CD Player JVC 36D201 36" TV JVC HR-S3600 SVHS Player JVC XV-M565BK DVD Player Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100 Digital Cable box Playstation 2 Monster Power HTS-2000 Monster Cable M-series Speaker Cable and subwoofer cable Monster Component, S-Video, and Optical cables RS HT Gold Interconnects
TheEAR
Lane get the KSW12 sub,it not only has more output but sounds better. The bass is a bit lacking on the KSW10, the KSW12 is worth the extra expense. Myram has a KSW12 for sale, check it out.You will not pay much and have a good inexpensive sub. For the reciever part I would go with the Onkyo if you must have either the Onkyo or the Pioneer.Again here a Denon would be a great choice.2802 or 3802 are feature packed and sound quality is very good.
