J Tanman
I have the 2 KLF-20s for front mains, and a KLF-C7 for center, and 2 RS-7s for surround on the way. Both the KLF-20 and the RS-7 can easily go lower than 60Hz which is where I plan on setting the receiver crossover at, but the C7 is rated only to 75Hz. Is it still safe to set it at "large" 60Hz or will I have a gap in the center channel? I could try to set it at "small" 80Hz, but my sub will start to fall off above ~70Hz. Any suggestions? t-man
Do you have a subwoofer? If so, I would set it to small, if not, large should work. Another member of the BB has his set to large, and he likes it. Says the frequencies are all there. Do some experimenting, and let us know. boa12
right now i have my C7 set small. just got the new B&K ref 30 pre/pro & think i know what u mean w/ these adjustable crossovers in the pre/pro's or receivers. as w/ my B&K u probably have to set the cross same for all speaks. i did freq sweep on my C7 front center & it had good output all the way down to 50hz. no tech measurements w/ meter though. i'd set the cross & speaker sizes where they all sound best together. that's what i'll do. imo shouldn't be concerned about losing anything on a front or rear c7 as it will go lower than 75hz & no mixer in their right mind should put much low bass in just a center channel only. ------------------ Klipsch KLF 30 (front) Klipsch KLF C7 (center) Klipsch Cornwall I (rear) Velodyne HGS-18 sub woofer Marantz SR-8000 receiver Acurus A200X5 power amp Sony DVP-C650D 5-disk cd/dvd player Sony Trinitron 27" stereo tv Toshiba hi-fi stereo vcr Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2100 digital cable box Monster HTS2500 & HT200 powercenters Boa's Listenin Lounge: Klipsch RF-3, RC-3 Sony STR-DE935 a/v receiver Kenwood KR-9600 AM/FM stereo receiver (vintage 1975) Russound AB-2 receiver switch to RF-3 Teac PD-D1200 5-disk cd changer Technics SL-1950 turntable/AT LS500 cartridge Technics dual cassette deck Monster HTS1000 powercenter rock on!
