carpet spikes for amps?

anybody know where i can get spikes or something to put

a marantz monoblock ma6100 on a thick carpeted floor?

it measure's: WxHxD - 3 5/16" X 5 1/2" X 17 3/4"

it has 4 little rubber feet screwed on the bottom which

sink right into the thick carpet.

just got the new ma6100 but didn't think about the depth so i still have no room on the audio rack. only room for it is on floor next to rack. no room for a bigger rack either. or maybe i'll just forget about adding a rear center channel/C7 to the main sys. cwm14.gif

thanks!

boa,I used 3/4" MDF to make a amp stand for my Acurus 125Five.HD has MDF 3/4X16X48 for $3.49.They'll cut it for free.Got the spikes as eq suggested at Parts Express (part # 240-715)and painted it black lacquer. Works and looks great.Parts Express has other spikes also, part # 240-725 and part # 240-730.Good luck.

Oh yeah,nice equipment.

thanks men but sorry after some foolin around i found that it will just barely squeeze under the bottom shelf

of the rack. keith u know what i mean w/ that vantage point stand.

have to lay it on it's side but shouldn't be a vent problem since the amp's vents are on the top, no? manual just says don't block the vent holes.

Huh? Is it standing on its end, like a tower PC? since heat rises, and the vents would be on the side rather than the top, you may have a problem if that's how it is oriented...Not sure I follow ya.

dd, well er kinda like that cept it really has depth & it's narrow (when set normally) see measurements above. good point on heat rising.

it's vent holes normally would be on top & bottom, but on side the top/bottom holes would be on both sides. should get flow through. maybe it needs a

lil side fan. always something. Smile.gif then again my pc doesn't have holes on top though it's no amp cwm16.gif

yea doug will be working tonight on setting up the new amp & B&K pre/pro.

think i'll play it safe & set the ma6100 upright as it should be. think i can find a way to get it that way on the rack. marantz tech will say not to put it on it's side. the holes on top & bottom make sense w/ the heat convection & all. thanks for the alert.
