Mike Lindsey
I hear ya, but my La Scala's were refinished that way. They too were Birch Lacquers and were restored by Q-Man. So you have a point, they should probably be called Golden Birch now.
Chris Robinson
I'm considering selling mine. They are 76 Birch Lacquer's that have since been restained in a Dark Walnut. There is some chips in the veneer. If I were to keep them I would want to take the stain off and refinish them in a Golden Oak, but I really don't have a clue how to do it. Mike I probably paid a record-high $750 for my HOO (oiled oak) five years ago. They were in mint condition and included the slant risers, and were in the neighborhood. I was probably dumb to pay that much but I've gotten miles of enjoyment from them. I'm probably not going to need them after I finish my HT remodel so I may be selling them. If anyone here is interested in them, let me know (and they'll be less than the $750 for sure []). Chris
