HI there fellow FM'r.

Yeah you'll need a surround reciever. Hook up your sound card to the reciever (which input/outputs you can use depend on what your reciever/sound card has available.) Your RSX and RCX satellites will be powered by the reciever.

The RSW would be hooked up to the subwoofer out on the reciever. That's it.

btw, no you don't have to have a reciever...

what kind of soundcard do you have? You'll just need to convert the

1/8" stereo miniplug into an RCA connector to connect it to the sub -

and then you'll just need to do your bass management settings on the

computer sound card software.

But it is still much easier to use a reciever (because you'll need an amp for those RSX speaker anyway).

boomer911 remember he can still use the dial to adjust just how much or how little

he really needs and can in fact match the sub with the speakers. Just

like a car, you can have a 1001 hp engine and just use 100. Do you

drive to redline on your commute everyday? Although driving in a

ferrari is a little extreme but I know alot of people who drive BMW

750Li or Mercedes Benz S550 to work that cost $100,000

I think, now is a good time to spend $4000 - 5000 on HTPC, they are worth it. I've seen some really amazing setup around, and i don't think there is any overkill, they performs just as good as real HT gears.. { almost !!} Don't forget to add the X-Fi elite Pro and the "HT" reveicer that you want... It will be fun.. Some of the games that's out there deserve those big impact sound ... and u get them only from high end sub.. i say go crazy and experience..
