Do you need a 5.1 receiver (like a pioneer) that would hook up to the soundcard? I know almost nothing about receivers or the like.... voxr3m Posted February 1, 2006 Share Posted February 1, 2006 HI there fellow FM'r. Yeah you'll need a surround reciever. Hook up your sound card to the reciever (which input/outputs you can use depend on what your reciever/sound card has available.) Your RSX and RCX satellites will be powered by the reciever. You'll just need to convert the 1/8" stereo miniplug into an RCA connector to connect it to the sub - and then you'll just need to do your bass management settings on the computer sound card software. Just like a car, you can have a 1001 hp engine and just use 100. Do you drive to redline on your commute everyday? Freak Nasty Posted February 7, 2006 Share Posted February 7, 2006 I think, now is a good time to spend $4000 - 5000 on HTPC, they are worth it. I've seen some really amazing setup around, and i don't think there is any overkill, they performs just as good as real HT gears.. { almost !!} Don't forget to add the X-Fi elite Pro and the "HT" reveicer that you want... It will be fun.. Some of the games that's out there deserve those big impact sound ... and u get them only from high end sub.. i say go crazy and experience..
