cfowler
I realize there will be some discrepenices between the 3 models, but which would you pro's out there rate the best overall performance-wise and sound quality wise? I realize the KI are not designed to be portable...I am wondering which would suit my needs most. I am a House and Trance DJ and want something that can really pump, but sound very good at the same time. A 3 way is obviously the first in getting better sound am I right? Is there going to be much difference at all between the 3 models and if so, what would that be? Thanks very much in advance. Chris- P.S. - I also wanted to ask how the KI-362's would fare against a pair of Mackie SA-1521 2-way or SA-1530 3-way powered monitors volume wise and sound wise. With the right amplification, could you eat up the mackie's with the KLIPSCH KI-362? Very curious, Chris-
DrWho
Either of the KP's would be my choice...both of which will go louder than the Mackie powered series. The Mackies will be a bit "smoother" sounding, but the klipsch will bite a ton more. Just make sure you power them with a beefy amp. I've always been able to fill an entire gym with just a single pair of KP-3002's (very similar to the 301 II's) and it was still pumping hardcore. Hallwalker
Hiya ,Cfowler another suggestion would be to try and listen to the EV Gladiator G115 tops and G118 Bottoms set up, thats what I run in my DJ rig..EV Gladiators can be powered by one amplifier 850w x 2 and are excellent for Techno , House & Modern Dance and have that Klipsch Sound to them .If you want an idea check out my page http://www.myspace.com/bigchiliproductions regards Tony C
cfowler
Well, I just purchased 4 Klipsch KI-362-B's direct from Klipsch through an eBay auction so I'm anticipating great things from them according to what I've read. They should be very similar to the KP-302's if not better. Thanks for the replies! Chris-
Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted April 12, 2006 Klipsch Employees Share Posted April 12, 2006 This is a tour rig I put together. I use the 362 in many dance and jazz clubs Besure to cut the low end at about 80 Hz.

cfowler
Thanks Trey. Unfortunately, I won't even get to listen to the 362's. I bought two pairs and had them shipped to a friends in CA since Klipsch would not ship to me here in Canada. I recently sold them and am looking for something smaller to serve as near-field monitors for a turntable setup in my basement.
Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted April 21, 2006 Klipsch Employees Share Posted April 21, 2006 Look for some RB-5's or RB-3's they make good NFM. You should not be hard to find.
cfowler
The reference bookshelfs are very nice. I'm looking for something that can still scream when I need it to yet is very compact and portable. I really have my eye set on the JBL M-Pro MP410's. Any suggestions? Thanks. Klipsch Employees Trey Cannon Posted April 30, 2006 Klipsch Employees Share Posted April 30, 2006 The KP-262 or KI-272 is a nice unit. High output, not much power needed. 2 way with a 12" woofer.
