Cornwall Grills

Anyone have a pair of Cornwall grills they would like to part with. My new project is a pair of '78 Cornwalls that 1 grill is toast. Actually the cloth is still salvagable but the board is broken. I really don't have a color preference. I remember seeing some at one tme on the board but the new search is not as friendly (good) as the old search.

I just made a pair. I used the 2x4 sheets

they sell in HD, 1/4" thick. Used one other to trace the holes

and size. They look as good as the original.

2x4 sheets of what? Drywall? MDF? Plywood? Just curious as to what

works for you. I'll be regrilling mine soon, and am weighing various

alternatives.

Thanks!

has anybody ever tried a "decorator" style grill? A nicely finished piece of quality wood with the holes cut out is what I was thinking about that could be swapped out with the originals.

Might make for a nice change of pace?

What do you guys think?

You'd see the edges and the gap between them and the motor board. I think they might look okay from a distance but I'm too close to mine for this to work well, I'd think.

Nice idea though. Give it a go and let us know how it works for you. It'd be easy to get the wood preveneered, you'd just have to cut and finish it.

The material I used is very similar, if not identical, to the original.

Thanks! I'll take a look.

As for decorator grills, I've been thinking of using corrugated tin (in honor of PWK's first workshop), but I can't decide between horizontal or verticle placement.
