mtber101
Right now my system includes: RB-75's RC-7 RS-7's I would really like to get my hands on a pair of RF-7's (matching and price) but as time goes on they are going to be harder to get. Can the new flagship match with the older reference speakers? Thanks Ben
TIbor
I am sure you can them new or used on ebay!
Jay481985
You live in PA? how far are you from NJ? I know a place that sells and has a pair of rf-7 cherry for 1600 nitb
mmiles
I have a pair in bonus room collecting dust. 8/10 - 9/10, conservative - all black. $1,000.00 Regards, Mike
mtber101
Thanks for the offers guys. I need cherry. If they came down to 1500 I might be able to do it..... but it would be hard. Mike i'll be keeping you mind. Still have boxes? I'm in State College.

mtber101
But how would the new 83's match with the older reference line?
mtber101
anyone....?
Jay481985
would say the timbre might be off but how much I cannot say. The new rf-83 is crossed at 1650 highpass while the rf-7 is 2200. That is why the rf-7 lacked a midrange.... cause some of the midrange was handled by a 10 inch woofer! but it should not be as drastic as say two different companies like one horn and one dome tweeter. tsmalls
I'm not sure of your question, are you talking about mixing the RF-83s with the RC7 and RS7, or are you asking about a comparison between the two?
mtber101
Mixing them with the rc-7 and rs-7's
wdrazek
The RF7 is the ideal match, but the RF83 should be close. If you want dead on, and are starting from scratch stick with the RC64 and RS 62 for the RF83.
kelA
Have you checked the Klipsch ebay store? There is currently a pair of RF-7's with current bidding at 900. Shipping is at 250. Only roughly 4 hours left. Just a thought.[]
darylroy
I wouild love to get that rc-7. I would gladly pay shipping. 400.00 is a steal. Let me know if your still interested. Thanks...
tsmalls
I am a dealer in Ga, and tried that combo, all matching, and various other combos, i get that question daily in my stores for those wanting to upgrade some, but not all of their speakers. I also spoke with my Rep about it. It sounds fine, although the drivers differ in specification, they are the same type of drivers (titanium tweeters, cerametallic woofers, etc.) kind of like an RF-5 and RC-7 situation (different tweeter specs, but both titanium). Yes, matching would be ideal, but you should have no qualms about mixing them.
mtber101
Thanks for the input guys. I had those speakers on my watch list...but I was traveling all day so I could get a bid on them. All the other auctions I've watched have gone to atleast 1200. I saw a black pair go up to 1400. crazy when you add the shipping.

I am quoted 1600 a pair of new rf-7 nitb and so, so that was my mark. Also I was quoted for 1560 for new rf-83.... hehe I guess that is why I purposely stopped bidding the rf-7 at 1000 and hoped someone would outbid me! jamesV
Hey Jay was that quote that you got for the RF-83 from a local guy that you know? Just wanted to know cause looking at getting a pair and was not able to get out this weekend to test them myself. I'm starting from scratch, and looking at the RF-83's and the mains with the matching center. Thanks in advance for the help.
Jay481985
I went to JandR.com I live near there so I can go there. Heh I was quoted 1800-2000 other places... JandR though is the bestbuy (bulk sales) type soo prices are cheaper. I wanted to gain some reputation with the guys soo as I have stated before I can buy and ship at price just so I can get deals in the future[]
