stephens
upgrade time. have complete rf-7 set, what would work best between harman kardon 7300 and denon avr4306, and what are the pros and cons of each?
Tim_in_NC
I'm loving my HK 7300 ... Lots of Power, Plenty of Bells and Whistles, & an excellent Digital Decoding system... My DTS & Dolby Digital movies never sounded better... I went from a Yamaha to an HK and really feel the HK goes very, very well with the Klipsch speakers... However, I've never owned a Denon, but from what I read... you can't go wrong with a Denon either... -TIM
Jay481985
RTTR a fellow forum member and I have talked about alot, in fact all the recievers and the 7300 is relatively outdated to the competition but the new 640 or so coming out in a month or so is a vast improvement

For example the 7300 doesn't have HDMI, a "real" setup mic, room EQ, XM radio also the 7300 uses the same Cirrus DAC and DSP as in the lowest end HK receiver where as the 3806 uses TI DACs which are far superior, the 3806 has more inputs/outputs and the ability to do 9.1 with matrixed surround. And as for the AVR-4306 that is light years ahead of the HK 7300. But from an authorized dealer the 4306 will be a few hundred bucks more. chops
Have you put any thougt into Pioneer Elite? That's what I'm using on my CW II's, and they've never sounded better. Just a suggestion. []
stephens
do you think the avr 3806 is a step up from the 7300
wdrazek
I second the Pioneer Elite suggestion. Great build, great sound and features and they were the first with automatic room correction. Mates very well with Klipsch Ref in my HT.
