b-man1
i want to put a new HT together (medium sized room...unsure of exact dimensions) and wanted opinions. would the sound quality be decent from the following combo? - 6 quintet satellites (sats as center and rear center) - ksw10 or ksw12 sub - outlaw 1050 6.1 receiver i'd be going with the quintets to start off...upgrade later if needed...and saving on the center by using a sat as the center. dougdrake2
Depends on the size of the room. Quintets will fill a small to medium room nicely for HT. If music is your interest, these won't really cut it. In that case, unless you are getting a screaming deal on the Quints, look at the Synergy System 6. Get a 12" sub. Enjoy! b-man1
i'm just considering the ubid.com prices that the quintets have been going for ($39/each + shipping) where is a good place for the system 6?
dougdrake2
Check www.acousticsounddesign.com and www.sounddistributors.com. However, I'll be surprised if you can find the System 6 components for what you're looking at for the Quintets. They are: Fronts = SB-1; Center = SC-.5; Rears = SS-.5. See if those models show up on Ubid or Ebay. You probably won't see it advertised as the System 6. Doug
TheEAR
Like Doug said take a good look at the Synergy series speakers. For music they are way better, its very true I have both the Quintets and the Synergy(SB3,SB2,SC-1). Sub woofing should be taken by the KSW12,better bass and more output to fill larger rooms(more SPL). TheEAR(s) Now theears
