They have a climate controlled hold just for live animal on their cargo/freight planes. He rode in his crate in this hold. You still have to flight manage times to minimize their chances of exposure extreme temperatures while the plane sitting in on the tarmac when an animal is shipped however Continental has a climate controlled area in their air terminals where live animals are held during layovers.
