thewolf
Just picked up a pair of '86 Cornwall II this afternoon. Hooked them up and found that one of the tweeters wasn't working. I swaped it with the other (good one) thinking it might have been the crossover. It was the tweeter. Where can I get a replacement tweeter? Can these be re-built? Do I need to replace both at the same time or can I just replace the bad one? By the way....the good speaker sounds excellent. Can't wait to hear them in stereo. Please help! DrWho
Bob Crites (BEC) sells replacements. I think he might do repairs too? There have been slight variations with the tweeters over the years so you're probably better off purchasing a pair to make sure things match correctly. You can also contact Klipsch and I'm sure they can hook you up with their most recent tweeters. BEC
Gary, You just need a new diaphragm for the tweeter. They are very easy to install. I can sell you one or you can call Klipsch parts. If I were you, I would replace both of the diaphragm. The new ones will be made of a different material than the originals whether you buy them from Klipsch or me. thewolf
Thanks Bob. How much for a pair of K-79 diaphrams? Do I just take off the three nuts that attach the cone to access the diaphram? Gary
BEC
Gary, Yes, just remove the 3 nuts and separate the horn from the magnet assembly. Then the diaphragm can just be removed and replaced. 5 minute job. Send me an email about cost. Bob Crites bobcrites@centurytel.net
thewolf
Bob, I just took it apart and put back together, piece of cake. Just sent you an email. Thanks much for the help. Gary

JJkizak
BEC: Do you also do the squawker diaphrams? Is there any kind of "test" you can perform to see if they need replacement? JJK
BEC
JJK, Which driver are you talking about? I have diaphragms for the K-55V, but not the bolt on drivers like in the Cornwall II. You can swap the two drivers to see if one is not working right. Bob
