rigidoutlaw
I recently scored a sweet deal on 4 KLF-30s in excellent condition but I will only need 2. My plan is to run a stereo setup strictly for listening to music. Now I need to decide either to buy an amp or a receiver with built in amplifier. I've looked at Denon and Onkyo receivers rated at 100 watts rms but the KLFs are rated at 200 watts rms so I worry not enough power might damage them. Does anyone have a recommendation for the least expensive way for me to do this and give these speakers plenty of clean power? Also I will be selling the 2 extra KLF-30s if anyone is interested. vman71
I have a pair of Chorus II's and KLF-20's that I run with the following amps: 2-channel 14watts per channel EICO HF-81 integrated tube amp 100watts per channel Plinius 8100 SS integrated amp HT 225watts per channel Sunfire Cinema Grand SS 5 channel amp The CII's and KLF's sound great with any one of the three amps. stormin
In terms of amplification don't overlook a QSC PLX or SRA. These things are much more than just a fill in amplifier. Dont let the SS fool you. Smooth, Detailed, Slam ! Now as far as pre amplification many here on the forum love the juicy music peach. I myself use a restored marantz 2325 as a pre. There is no ss glare here and as a metal head i enjoy the warmth and control i have with the marantz. Good luck!
gbrlex
I am very interested in the KLF 30's and I'm close enough to pick them up. What color are they and what are you asking for them? You can email me at grawson@wistv.com.
gbrlex
In response to the amp. I have used an Adcom 5500 and currently a Rotel 1080. Both of these amps are rated at 200 wpc. In my opinion, the Rotel is far superior and can be bought on audiogon for around $600 used. You would not be disappointed.

rigidoutlaw
What about a Carver XI 1150 at 225 wpc or XI 1850 at 370 wpc? These are power beasts for the buck and I seem to remember hearing Carver making great products. How do they stack up next to Adcom and Rotel?
