Bert_d
Hi there, 2 questions from Belgium. I have a set of Klipsch RF35, RC25, RB25 and a RW12 hooked on my Denon AVR2106, and was wondering how to setup the amp. I can choose: Speakers driven full range + sub with the crossoverpoint on 40, 60 or 80Hz, or Speakers cut off at the crossoverpoint of the sub (eg. 80Hz) And finaly: How to setup the phase of the sub? Turn the button and listen? or is there an other way? Thanks

I would choose speakers full range plus sub with a crossover of 80hz for those speakers, but that's just me. Here is a great article someone wrote up on how to set up the subwoofer phase using your ear: http://www.klipschcorner.com/Articles.aspx?guid=feb5d669-1513-426d-a8fc-29f8aa90869f You can also verify the results using an SPL meter. bismarck
I will give what advice i can and some more people may chime in with much more knowledge than myself. I don't know what the RF-35s are rated at but a standard setup is setting all the speakers to small and setting the crossover at 80Hz. I wouldn't set the speakers to full range because i don't think they are full range speakers, that is what your sub is for. You would be fine with a crossover of 60, also, but i would just change it and listen for a bit and go what you think sounds best. As far as the phase is concerned the way i did it was with a friend. Sit in the listening position and have your friend or whomever change the phase on the sub and go with whatever sounds best to you.
Bert_d
@damonrpayne: Bert_d, is Bert and D is the first letter of my sirname ;o) article is pretty good advice, I will try it !! @ bismarck: specs of RF35 :37Hz-20kHz ±3dB I thought this was a full range. But I'm starting to understand that it is more about personal preferences, then rules. Oh yes, my neighbours don't like my RW12, but ooh boy, I DO !!!!
