Hi, I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive ($300-350), used if possible, reliable tube line stage with at least three inputs and and a tape loop without dual volume controls. I will be putting it in front of a Bryston B60 integrated amp section (essentially a Bryston 2b-lp) and driving original Fortes. I've had vintage tubes on the Fortes in the past (Fisher X100B) and am trying to regain a little of that midrange magic. The Bryston is better on the frequency extremes and is very smooth and quiet. It is just missing that little bit of roundness/fullness through the mids that the Fisher offered. Any suggestions--no kits though for me--as I have hands of stone! Vintage is ok, but so is something more modern, and I'm trying to stay with something designed and/or made in North America so parts availability hopefully won't be an issue in the future. Thanks for any suggestions.

Vel,

If anyone out there knows of a better and more cost-effective tube preamp than JMA Merlin......let me know....
