sesquim
Hi! First I dont know much about speakers and Im trying to build a home theater system and music system but I want to build it one piece at a time. So I am starting with floor standing speakers. I am looking at this two speakers which are in my price range of about $600 but if anyone can recommend other speakers for the same price or less that is as good or better, I really appreciate it. If I have the money I would get the RF-7. JBL N38 Floor Speakers Crossover: 1000Hz, 5000Hz Dimensions W/H/D: 31-1/2" x 12" x 10-1/2" Finish Black Frequency Response: 45Hz - 20kHz Mid Range(s): 4" PolyPlas Cone Power Capability: 175 Watts Sensitivity: 90db Weight: 15.9kg Energy Speaker Tweeter: 19mm aluminum dome, textile suspension Woofer: 14cm x2 mice polypropylene cone, injection molded basket Frequency Response: 42Hz 20kHz Crossover Frequency: 2.2 Khz Sensitivity: 93db Impedance: 8 ohms (Nominal) Recommended Amp Power: 15-150 watts Dimensions: H 84cm/33.1 W 15cm/5.9 D 31cm/12.2 Weight: 13.6 kg / 30lbs Can anyone tell me anything about else about these two speakers? Such as bass of these speaker? But not important cause I can get a Subwoofer later. And which one is better overall? Thanks! I am concerned about their size, the woofers are small and I can get a speaker with much bigger woofer for cheaper price. And also the woofer are like the same size as my bookshelf system which can handle only 50watts but these speakers can handle over 100 watts, can anyone please explain? ------------------ »®»ŦħĄňķŜ«®« »®»Life Is Góód«®« »®»Its All Gööd«®«

discusman
if you don't mind used speakers then i'd look for some of the older klipsch's ... let's see ... for $600 i've seen forte's, chorus and if you're lucky cornwalls - these speakers rock but they are also big. RF-7's are great speakers but not at their $2200 msrp - though some would swear that they are worth every penny. sorry ... but this is a Klipsch site so we're pretty biased with our choices. matthew2
I would NOT get the JBL. I would get BOSE instead...Kidding. The Klipsch SF2's are nice, and for the price of around $750Canadian, there a great deal. But There is better, and cheeper speakers then the JBL. Try athena, mirage, "energy", Paradigm, and you will be happy. Cheep speakers are funny the way they are rated. JBL has aimed most of there new line to people like me...Without lots of money. But after saving, its much more worth it to gett a pair of klipsch, like the SF2's er1's, or the SB2. As for the other question you asked, I recomend the energy. ------------------ Matthew
