jdm56
mrtrain, Like boa said, I would try a front corner first and work from there. But I would recommend experimenting. And the lower the X/O from the sub, the more freedom you'll probably have with placement. ------------------ JDMcCall
mwiener
A Velodyne techie told me to put the sub in the corner shooting down the long wall. It is supposed to give you about 3 to 9 db additional bass. It did not work for me, because in the integration of the bass for the Cornwalls and my Velodyne sub it dramatically overstated the 40db range. But it was definitely higher output in that position. Worst case, you make the sub not work so hard for the same output. Mike.
blklab
This may sound silly but have you tried placing the sub in your listening position and then with a sound meter, walk around the room until you get the desired sound. This is the area in which you should then place your sub. Doesn't hurt to try. Good luck.
The Big Show (TBS)
Then call me silly. I second what Blklab said about placing sub in your primary listening position. But if you donot yet have a sound meter walk the room and you should notice a hot spot in sound. Thats where your sub should be placed.Sample Text ------------------
jhawk92
I agree with what blklab said. That is how I set up my sub, PW-2200. I placed it in my listening position, moved around the room, no sound meter needed, as I could tell a "hot spot" when I found one. Best location was about even with my sofa, 4' away from prime location, firing towards the front speakers, along a 14' wall, about 3.5' from the back wall. An added benefit: the love seat sits in front of the sub and it rumbles with movies and music. Kinda cool!
