I need some advice

Hello fellow Klipsch fans,

I need some subwoofer advice from you experienced people.

I'm looking at buying the Klipsch RW12 since that's the only subwoofer I can afford.

The room size is about 14 by 14 feet and it has a carpet floor, I will mainly use it for music because I dont have the surround speakers for movies yet. I'm going to use it on my Onkyo TX SR 604 receiver and with two floorstanding speakers they stop at about 35 Hz. Will the RW12 keep up in this room size? Will it sound good on a carpet floor? I think I have a few more questions but I forgot at the moment. And BTW this is going to be my first subwoofer.

Thanks for the reply's

Wolter.

The RW12 is a fine starter sub, goes quite deep and has good output, carpet or no carpet.

Be sure to position it or any sub alongside the front wall(to your sitting)where you have a nice wall, midway.Out of corners, this position works best for many subs.Corner placement creates too many irregularities in response.

What price can you get a RW12,if I may ask?

1/8 space refers to room placement at intersection of 2 walls and floor.

If you suspend speaker in mid air, it tries to radiate into a complete sphere

on floor 1/2 sphere

floor/wall boundary 1/4 sphere

floor/wall/wall corner 1/8 sphere.

The adjacent walls act like horn, and reinforce some frequencies.

Thanks again for the reply,

So if i understand correctly, "1/8 space" means measured on the floor and in the corner?

And for the last question to stop bothering you people:P, 14 by 14 feet isn't to big for the RW12 and I can still play it pretty loud?

Thanks again.

Wolter.
