j-malotky
Last weekend, I was talking to Bill Dowlding (the author of the book Beetle Songs). He also loved this CD and recomends it highly. After the holidays, he is going to swing over with the DVD-A 5.1 to give it a listen on my system. JM
SCOOTERDOG
I bought this as well. I prefer the Beatles from about 66 and up. However the re-mastering is exceptional if not a bit different from the original recordings. I have not listened to the 2 ch version only the 5.1 dvd audio. The mix for the most part is very tasty. There are many songs from the Beatles that really shine in 5.1 when you consider how the original 2 ch recordings were done. Most instruments from one ch and vocals from the other with some panning. The 5.1 really opens the songs up to what I feel is there real potential.
