st. patrick
okay already, i feel stupid, so flame away. I FINALLY got around to hooking up my McIntosh 240 and the Blueberry Xtreme and the CW's that were stashed in the garage. Plugged everything in , wired it all up and was doing just fine UNTIL I decided to turn it off. How do you turn off an old tube amp? It can't be plugged into the back of the BBX, and I have it plugged into the wall and everything else (Scout, MR 78, and the BBX) plugged into a PS Audio Juice bar. In the "old" days, did everyone plug and unplug an amp everytime they wanted to use it?? Can't be so. I tried the search function, but i am apparently the only idiot out here. Also, i hooked the CW's up to the 8 ohm taps but tonight i will switch to the 4 ohm taps, as i did find a few posts on that topic. Thanks for the anticipated help. Allan Songer
No on/off switch on old McIntosh amps. In the old days you plugged the amp into the preamp. Does the Juice Bar have an on/off button? You can just shut the whole system down that way . . .
PrestonTom
Is using a power strip an option (you can get some surge protection while you are at it)? -Tom
st. patrick
No "on/off" on the Juice bar, but i guess i can use a separate surge protector (with an on/off switch) on the amp. thanks guys, patrick
