newoverkill
Hi folks, soon I will receive my Klipsch La Scala in black. What I would like to know is if anyone ever had problems with small 'stress cracks' due to change of temperature or humidity? Is there any special care needed? Greetings from Germany, Bernd

Guest " "
I have only seen cracks on the surface of the finish that run with the grain in cases folks used cleaners with accelerants in them such as clean and shine furniture polish. The accelerants dry out the underlying wood, resulting in the surface finish forming cracks along the edge that run with the grain.
michael hurd
If a lacquer, enamel or polyurethane coating is too thick it will crack, as it cannot expand and contract with the humidity changes of the wood. Klipsch uses lacquer on the lascala and other speakers.
