LarryC
Jay, of those 4, I've heard a Glider that didn't stand out as memorable, and only one Benz that I have liked. I don't know Sumikos at all. In an earlier post, you wrote "the Dynavector VPI special version 20X 1.0mv output is supposed to be an excellent match for this setup...Mark at Rogue told me I will have no problem with anything from 0.8mv on up." I agree with others here that synergy is important and valuable in LP equipment, so everything to me still adds up to you seriously considering the Dynavector (just don't take only my opinion on it). I can't recall anyone saying anything bad about one. Dunno about rock, but Gary's jazz LPs definitely work very well with good MC cart quality. You know that you need to be careful around the stylus, so shield and protect it from carelessness and houskeepers, and you should be fine. Please let us know your decision and what you think, and we look forward to hearing about it. Larry
maxg
Dynavector seems like a good choice here too. Never heard a disappointed owner - must mean something. Come across a number of their models recently - all good.
mowntnbkr
it seems to get little attention, but I have A Audio Technica OC-9 and it is a wonderful cart. The gentleman who I got my TD-160 from (Dave at VinylNirvana) was very impressed with the sound, and I have had others who have just raved about it. It can be had for under $300 and you would not be disappointed.
jcmusic
I have pretty much decided on the Dynavector 20X special VPI version 1.0 mv output. I will post more later. Jay
