Beatjunky
I just came across a pair of Walnut Khorns that I purchased today and I was wondering if anyone can provide me with feedback as to their experience with amp selection. I would like to get these babies hooked up before this weekend but really need some advice here so I can avoid the next month of amp demo. Any advice one can gave on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Randy Bey
Tube amps. Directly heated single-ended triode to be specific. Look for around 4 to 8 watts power output. Tube rectification. High quality output transformers. You won't be sorry.
Kevin S
I owned Klipschorns for 12 years and ran them with a wide variety of amps/recievers from Dynaco ST70's to McIntosh. The Klipschorns worked well with all of them. The main thing to look for, IMHO, is an amp with little or no background noise. Because of the Klipschorn's efficiency, if you amp is noisy, you will hear it. The Dynaco's and an Adcom amp I had were the worst for noise. Hope this helps. ------------------ L/C/R: Klipsch Heresy II Surround: Klipsch RS-3 Subwoofers: 2 HSU-VTF-2 Pre/Pro/Tuner: McIntosh MX-132 AMP: McIntosh MC-7205 DVD: McIntosh MVP-831 CD Transport: Pioneer PD-F908 100 Disc Changer Turntable: Denon DP-72L Cassette: Nakamichi BX-1 T.V. : Mitsubishi 55905 SAT/HDTV: RCA DTC-100 Surge Protector: Monster Power HTS-5000
