tweeter0018
I purchased a Sony STR-DA3000ES - 150 Watts/Channel @ 8 ohms, 7.1 Surround (Wish I would have purchased something else after further research) a while ago and wanted to buy descent speakers. Considering I am kinda new at this audiophile stuff, I was wondering if my reciever would be sufficient to push either the Klipsch F-2 or F-3 home theatre system. I read that if the reciever is under powered the speakers could possibly be damaged.
oldbuckster
Why, what's wrong with the SONY? It's an ES, should be pretty nice. I like SONY, many on here don't, that unit has plenty of power to run most any speaker, especially Klipsch speakers.......................No problem.................... Daddy Dee
Tweeter, Welcome to the forum. I think you've got ample power in that receiver to run any Klipsch system you want. Enjoy!
Spkrdctr
I agree that you have plenty of power. Buy the F-3 if possible, you will not be disappointed! I would also tweak the bass up a little bit with the reciever, your F-3s will kick out the bass....

Sell it and get something closer to what you really want. Why don't you like the SONY?

It is a really clean sounding unit, especially with tubes.
